Marine Safety in Maryport Harbour

This guide has been produced to help all users of Maryport Harbour understand the hazards and to know what to look out for, what to avoid and how to respond in an emergency.

Details regarding aids to navigation and information contained in this publication may be changed from time to time. Mariners intending to navigate within Maryport Harbour should ensure that they are in possession of up-to-date information, which may be obtained from the harbour office adjacent to the marina, from local notices to mariners and from up to date admiralty charts and nautical publications.

Whilst this guide provides information and advice on navigation within Maryport Harbour, it is a supplement to, and not a substitute for good seamanship. Anyone in charge of the navigation of a vessel must remember that they have the prime responsibility for that vessel’s safety at all times.

Maryport Harbour Authority hope that harbour users will find this information useful and that it will contribute to the continued safe use of Maryport Harbour
